On the eve of the midterm elections, a new poll indicates that Republican Pat Toomey has a five point advantage over Democratic Rep. Joe Sestak in the battle for Pennsylvania's open Senate seat. According to a Quinnipiac University survey released Monday morning, 50 percent of likely voters in the Keystone State support Toomey, with 45 percent backing Sestak and five percent undecided… The Quinnipiac poll indicates that Toomey has an overwhelming lead among Republican voters and has a 52 to 39 percent advantage among independent voters while Sestak has an overwhelming lead among Democrats.

And the final Morning Call/Muhlenberg College poll before Election Day also shows Toomey maintaining his lead over Sestak. From the Allentown Morning Call’s John Micek:

This morning's result finds Republican Pat Toomey leading Democrat Joe Sestak 48 percent to 44 percent in the race for U.S. Senate with 9 percent undecided.  

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Inquirer’s columnist Kevin Ferris writes that Toomey's pro-growth message is resonating with voters in the Keystone State:

During his six years in Congress, from 1999 to 2005, Toomey frequently warned his party about irresponsible spending, high taxes, and earmarks. At one point he annoyed the GOP leadership by drafting an alternative budget…With Democrats incapable of charting a fiscally responsible course, the uncertainties will linger, hiring won't resume, and prosperity will remain out of reach. Of course, even if Republicans win a majority on Tuesday, they'll still have to prove themselves. They'll need smart pro-growth advocates like Toomey, who has experience running a business and acting as a congressional budget hawk, to keep them on track… When it comes to the top issues facing the country, Pat Toomey is the most knowledgeable, most capable, and most qualified candidate running for U.S. Senate.

Politico’s Ben Smith notes that the local Democrats forgot about Sestak on their GOTV mailers:

There is not, as you see above, a whole lot of love for Sestak on the door hanger from the state Party. "Pat Toomey and Tom Corbett are scheduled to fly around the state together on Monday. The Democrats keep harping on how this election will come down to turnout — what does it say about their turnout operation if they can't work together?" e-mails Toomey spokesman Barney Keller about the piece.

And as Toomey continues to lead, Sestak’s extreme agenda causes him to depend on help from voter fraud organization ACORN. The Daily Caller reports:

According to the secretary of state’s office, 53,226 absentee ballots have been returned by registered Republicans in Pennsylvania compared with 37,631 by registered Democrats. Worse still for Democrats, the enthusiasm gap pollsters have predicted appears to be coming true. So far, Democrats have returned 55% of the absentee ballots they requested. Republicans have returned 67%.
